Canadian professional wrestler and sumo wrestler dies at 42

Tenta was best known for his work in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in the 1990s, where he wrestled under the ring name Earthquake. He was also a successful sumo wrestler in Japan, where he reached the rank of yokozuna. Tenta died on June 7, 2006, at the age of 42, from complications of bladder cancer.

Tenta was born on June 22, 1963, in Vancouver, British Columbia. He began his career as a professional wrestler in 1985, wrestling under the name Giant Earthquake. He joined the WWF in 1990, and quickly became one of the most popular wrestlers in the company. He was known for his immense size and strength, and for his signature finishing move, the Earthquake Splash.

Tenta retired from wrestling in 1996, and returned to Japan to focus on his sumo wrestling career. He reached the rank of yokozuna in 1998, becoming the first Canadian to achieve the highest rank in sumo wrestling.

Tenta retired from sumo wrestling in 2001, and returned to the United States. He was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2005, and died from the disease on June 7, 2006. He was survived by his wife and two children.
